The BDS has been designated by DARD
as an awarding body for certificates of Competence as required
by transporters from 5 January 2008 under council regulation
(EC) 1/2005on the protection of animals during transport and
related operations. EUGENE LARKIN has been approved by BDS
for training and/or assessments to be carried out and certificates
of competence issued in compliance with the regulation in
respect of the transport of equines on both short and long
journeys
